King of Fighters '99 was remade for the Dreamcast as The King of Fighters: Evolution. In this port, players can change the audio to listen to arranged tracks of the soundtrack. The Dreamcast port also had the stages completed remodeled in 3D.

The King of Fighters 2002

The game brings back the team play composed by three characters each that was a tradition in previous games. The game has also several important changes in the gameplay, like the "Free Cancel System" or "Max Mode System", the "Quick Emergency Evasion" and "Quick MAX Mode Activation", aside from the countless changes in each character's special moves and their properties.

The King of Fighters Neowave

KOF Neowave features 12 three-man teams made up of some of the greatest characters from SNK's 11-year history, including the Women Fighters Team (Mai, King and Yuri) and the Fatal Fury Team (Terry, Joe, and Andy). NEOWAVE features three modes of play - Super Cancel, Guard Break, and Max2. A new "Heat Mode" lets players power up their attacks in exchange for a gradual loss of health. A total of 43 characters including 7 Bonus characters. 12 of the most dangerous fighting teams ever assembled. Pick your team and fight it out in the original 3-on-3 battle format. Beautifully rendered background graphics. Activate "Heat Mode" to power-up your attacks. Revives the evacuation rolling maneuver and thrust attacks. Over-the-top Super Special Moves. 3 modes of play: Super Cancel, Guard Break and Max2. Link a Special Move with a Super Attack in the Super Cancel Mode to cause extreme damage.

A city lay in ruins as rival gangs are at war all vying for the chance to rule the underworld of Southtown. A small group destined to take the city back has established a meeting with the maniacal leader of the most powerful gang, "Mephistopheles". On one condition, to be in this meeting, one must prove themselves by defeating the greatest fighters in the world.

The King of Fighters XII

The twelfth installment of the famous fighting game series, The King of Fighters XII, is a massive reinvention of the franchise rebuilt from the ground up both technically and visually to celebrate the series' 15th anniversary. The game features a streamlined battle system and all-new high-resolution character sprites and backgrounds. Battles are the 3-vs-3 matches that KOF is known for, though the tag system from the previous game has been removed. The game features a total of 22 fighters, two of which are exclusive to the home release, and all of whom are returning combatants from previous titles. Included are a five-round arcade "time attack" mode, online and local versus, practice and replay modes, and an unlockable art gallery.

The King of Fighters '96

The King of Fighters '96 is a 1996 fighting game. It is the third game in The King of Fighters series, following The King of Fighters '95.

SNK's flagship series returns for another year. Many of the changes in this year's KOF release come in the form of improved graphics, sound effects, music and totally redone character sprites. The gameplay of the system has been altered with the addition of "Rush" multi-hit combos and new moves for practically every character. The storyline of the series receives heavy focus in this release with the Orochi Saga swinging into high-gear.

The King of Fighters '96 has 27 regular characters plus 2 boss characters (who can be unlocked with the use of a code). Newcomers to the tournament include Mr. Big from the Art of Fighting series, the bosses from Fatal Fury (Wolfgang Krauser and Geese Howard), and completely original characters like Leona Heidern, Mature and Vice. Other features carried over from the previous year include the ability to choose between the default "Team Fighting" mode or the traditional "Single Fighter" style of gameplay, plus the "Versus" and "Survival" gameplay modes.

The King of Fighters '95

The King of Fighters '95 is a 1995 fighting game produced by SNK for the Neo Geo arcade and home console. It is the sequel to The King of Fighters '94 and the second game in The King of Fighters series. It is also the first game in the series to be ported to other home consoles besides the Neo Geo AES and Neo-Geo CD, with versions released for the PlayStation, Sega Saturn and Game Boy. It was also rereleased in The King of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga in 2008 for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable and Wii.

The King of Fighters '95 introduces Kyo Kusanagi's rival Iori Yagami, and firmly places Kyo as the main character for the rest of the series. The gameplay of The King of Fighters '95 is essentially unchanged from the previous title, though it does introduce the "team edit" concept which would remain as a standard feature of the series. Using the "team edit" feature, it is possible to create a totally customized team using any of the available fighters, or use one of the default teams if you wish.

The King of Fighters: Maximum Impact - Maniax

The first-ever 3D version of King of Fighters has finally arrived, complete with all your favorite SNK characters. In King of Fighters: Maximum Impact, rival gangs are vying for the chance to rule the underworld of Southtown. As one of more than 16 fighters, you must prove that you're the greatest fighter in the world in five gameplay modes, including Story, Versus, Survival, Practice, and Training. The game's enhanced character movement lets you perform four new jumps, powerful combo moves, and the new Knock Back Attack.

Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001

Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001 (Millionaire Fighting 2001 in Japan) is the sequel to the fighting game Capcom vs SNK, and the sixth game in the Capcom's VS. Series. This game was released on Sega NAOMI hardware in the arcade. It was later released for the Sega Dreamcast (Japan only) PlayStation 2 and Playstation 3 (as a Playstation 2 Classics title in the PlayStation Network), with the GameCube and Xbox receiving an updated version called Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO.

SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos

SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos primarily utilizes the command system of The King of Fighters series, incorporating light/strong kicks, punches, cancels and charging attacks. Unlike its predecessor, Capcom vs. SNK 2, this game lacks both air guards and a "groove system", instead focusing on quicker gameplay. Characters are provided with a basic 3-level bar system for executing super-special attacks with basic filling options attributed to strikes and damage. Additionally, the sprites from the various series received new models and some special effects were changed in the command lists (for example, the player cannot increase the damage of the Zujou Sashi used by Choi Bounge by tapping the buttons anymore).

Eikichi Kawasaki, SNK's founder, established another company, Playmore Corporation on August 1, 2001, just two months before the original SNK's closure due to bankruptcy in October 30, 2001, to ensure that the company's properties would have an entity that can recover those.

On July 2003, Playmore rebranded as SNK Playmore Corporation, seeking to reclaim its original identity. Playmore's resemblance to the original SNK led to a return to the original company name on December 1, 2016.

SNK is known for its creation of the Neo Geo family of arcade, home, and handheld game consoles in 1990. The Neo Geo line was halted in 2001 because financial troubles forced SNK Corporation to close in the same year. Anticipating the end of the company, Kawasaki established Playmore Corporation in 2001, which acquired all of the intellectual property of the first iteration of SNK Corporation. In 2003, Playmore Corporation was renamed to SNK Playmore Corporation. In 2016, SNK dropped the name Playmore from its logo and reintroduced its old slogan, "The Future Is Now", officially changing its corporate name back to SNK.
