WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game

WWF WrestleMania (also known on console versions as WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game) is a professional wrestling arcade game released by Midway Manufacturing Co. in 1995. It is based on the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) professional wrestling promotion.
The game featured digitized representations of eight WWF performers who are pitted against each other in fast-paced matches inspired by Midway's Mortal Kombat games. Commentary is provided by Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler, who also appear in the game sitting at the announcers' table to the right of the ring.
Acclaim, who published the console versions of the game, developed a follow-up, WWF in Your House for the PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and DOS.

WWF No Mercy

WWF No Mercy allows players to compete for seven different WWF titles, with each belt getting its own unique story. Stories can be replayed, allowing players to defend their title in a storyline. Upon successful completion of a story mode, players will unlock the title they were competing for in the Exhibition mode, where titles can be won and defended as the players see fit.

A maximum of four players can compete in a range of modes, including caged and ladder contests and pay-per-view events. The player can also create an own event and compete for WWF titles unlocked in Championship mode. Certain matches are held outside the ring, in four different backstage locations.

WWF WARZONE is here, featuring the top superstars in the World Wrestling Federation! Signature and finishing moves unique to each wrestler. Specialized matches including Steel Cage Match. Midway Manufacturing was founded in 1958 in Chicago as a manufacturer of arcade amusement games. The company was purchased by pinball manucaturer Bally in 1969.

Midway was among the earliest companies to enter the video game market, producing their first game Winner in 1973 during the Pong arcade boom. Aside from a few early clones the company mostly relied on imports, contractors and other Bally-owned subsidiaries, such as Dave Nutting Associates, for designing their games. An internal team was established circa 1980-1981; their first game was Kick-Man, released in 1981.

In 1982 the company became Bally-Midway after Bally merged its pinball division into Midway.

Midway Manufacturing

Sculptured Software was an American video game developer based in Salt Lake City, Utah and founded in 1984 by George Metos, Peter Adams, and Bryan Brandenburg. George Metos incorporated the company on July 12, 1985 in the state of Utah with the help of some investors, as Sculptured Software, Inc. The company was an early pioneer in the video gaming industry, porting many games from arcade to home console systems, and developing its own games as well. The development company stayed very busy and successful, with over 50 games to its credit, so it is of no surprise that the company became a target for acquisition by larger companies. This happened in October 1995 when Acclaim Inc. bought the company.

Acclaim had also purchased Probe Entertainment as well as Iguana Entertainment several months earlier, and the three companies were collectively known as "Acclaim Studios" in 1998, although no official name changing happened until later. It appears that the Sculptured Studios, Inc. name remained since it was printed on game packaging all the way through 1999. It was referred to as "Iguana West", but it is unsure whether this name was officially used as a development entity.

Restructuring and rearranging things within Acclaim occurred in an attempt to streamline operations, and the Sculptured Software name was discontinued in favor of Acclaim Studios Salt Lake City in about July 1999. The first game on record developed by Acclaim Studios SLC was ECW Hardcore Revolution (January 31, 2000), and the last completed game by the studio was Legends of Wrestling II (2002). Acclaim Studios SLC was working on Legends of Wrestling III and one other unannounced game when the headquarters decided to close the studio in December 2002. Everything was absorbed into Acclaim's Austin studio at that time.
