Riven: The Sequel to Myst

Prepare to enter a world "torn asunder" by timeless, unresolved conflicts--a world of incomparable beauty, intrigue, and betrayal. Prepare to go to Riven. Journey through vast, awe-inspiring landscapes, where clouds sit nestled in a deep blue sky and the rolling sea waters shimmer from bright morning sunlight. But be forewarned: nothing is quite as it seems.

Myst III: Exile

MYST III: EXILE introduces a new villain Saavedro, who seeks revenge when he finds out his homeland was destroyed by Atrus' sons. The player must track the villain through several surrealistic Ages, navigating puzzles to uncover the truth behind this new adversary. Only then can disaster be averted to choose who was right and who was wrong.

Saavedro is played by Academy Award nominee Brad Dourif (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest).

Myst IV: Revelation

Myst IV: Revelation is the fourth installment in the Myst computer game series, developed and published by Ubisoft. Like Myst III: Exile, Revelation combines pre-rendered graphics with digital video, but also features real-time 3D effects for added realism.

The plot of Revelation ties up loose ends from the original Myst. The player is summoned by Atrus, a man who creates links to other worlds known as Ages by writing special linking books. Almost twenty years earlier, Atrus' two sons nearly destroyed all of his linking books and were imprisoned; Atrus now wishes to see if his sons' imprisonment has reformed them. The player ends up traveling to each brother's prison, in an effort to recover Atrus' daughter Yeesha from the brothers' plot.

Myst V: End of Ages

Myst V: End of Ages is a 2005 adventure video game, and the fifth and final installment in the Myst series. As in previous games in the series, End of Ages's gameplay consists of navigating worlds known as "Ages" via the use of special books and items which act as portals. On each Age, the player solves puzzles and discovers story clues hidden in the Ages or written down in diaries and journals. The player's actions in the game decide the fate of the ancient D'ni civilization.

Inviting you to explore a vast deserted island, Myst slowly reveals a haunting storyline involving a series of books that unlock alternate planes of reality. With only your wits as your guide, you must decode the hidden clues placed throughout the game's gorgeous 3D environments. Through text, video clips and tricky puzzles, you'll discover a world so real, you will be certain that it truly exists.

Myst: Masterpiece Edition

Myst: Masterpiece Edition is a remastered version of 1993's Myst. This edition features improvements over the original release, such as re-rendered imagery in 24-bit color, a remastered score, and enhanced sound effects. In the game, players travel via a special book to the island of Myst. There, players solve puzzles, and by doing so, travel to four other worlds, known as Ages, which reveal the backstory of the game's characters.

A reimaged version developed by Cyan, this version builds the original from the ground up to enable play in VR and flatscreen PC, with new art, sound, interactions, and optional puzzle randomisation.

This handheld version of Myst is a reworked re-release of the original game. It is similar in content to Real MYST as it contains Rime Age, the fifth age with additional content that was added in that release.

An enhanced port of Myst for PlayStation Portable, including the Rime Age from realMyst and higher-resolution widescreen visuals.

Myst 25th Anniversary Collection

To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the game Myst, Cyan offered an anthology of the complete series, along with some special, Atrus-approved, authentic game artefacts. The Collection was successfully funded through Kickstarter.

Myst Trilogy

Myst Trilogy is a compilation release that collects the first three titles in Cyan’s adventure game series: Myst: Masterpiece Edition, Riven: The Sequel to Myst, and Myst III: Exile.

Brøderbund began in the early 1980s in Eugene, Oregon. Galactic Empires, Prince of Persia and Lode Runner had an immediate impact on the gaming industry. Successes grew and continued for years, Myst ranked as the highest grossing home computer game. The company was dissolved shortly after acquisition by The Learning Company (formerly SoftKey) though its name persists as one of the company's several brands.

A Japanese company established in 1971 to manufacture and sell electronic equipment that has branched into multiple fields including videogames.

The company began working on arcade games in 1978, eventually starting companies in the United States and Europe as they began to work with console games. Sunsoft is a development division of the main company but was later used as a global brand for all their development and publishing efforts.

In 1995 they had major finical difficulties that lead to restructuring their businesses and the closure of their international branches while work continued in Japan. The company has since recovered and continues to release games though their main business is in other fields.

Visual Sciences Limited (later branded as Visual Science) was a British video game developer based in Dundee and founded in 1993 by former DMA Design employee Russel Kay. Kay sold a controlling interest in the studio to Tim Christian—who had previously been hired as a non-executive chairman—in January 2005, with Christian becoming its chief executive officer. Following the cancellation of a project by Vivendi Universal Games and Visual Science's subsequent inability to secure further funding, the studio filed for administration and laid off all staff in February 2006.
