Riven: The Sequel to Myst

Journey through vast, awe-inspiring landscapes, where clouds sit nestled in a deep blue sky and the rolling sea waters shimmer from bright morning sunlight. But be forewarned: nothing is quite as it seems.

Myst III: Exile

MYST III: EXILE introduces a new villain Saavedro, who seeks revenge when he finds out his homeland was destroyed by Atrus' sons. The player must track the villain through several surrealistic Ages, navigating puzzles to uncover the truth behind this new adversary. Only then can disaster be averted to choose who was right and who was wrong.

Saavedro is played by Academy Award nominee Brad Dourif (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest).

Myst IV: Revelation

Myst IV: Revelation is the fourth installment in the Myst computer game series, developed and published by Ubisoft. Like Myst III: Exile, Revelation combines pre-rendered graphics with digital video, but also features real-time 3D effects for added realism.

The plot of Revelation ties up loose ends from the original Myst. The player is summoned by Atrus, a man who creates links to other worlds known as Ages by writing special linking books. Almost twenty years earlier, Atrus' two sons nearly destroyed all of his linking books and were imprisoned; Atrus now wishes to see if his sons' imprisonment has reformed them. The player ends up traveling to each brother's prison, in an effort to recover Atrus' daughter Yeesha from the brothers' plot.

Myst V: End of Ages

Myst V: End of Ages is a 2005 adventure video game, and the fifth and final installment in the Myst series. As in previous games in the series, End of Ages's gameplay consists of navigating worlds known as "Ages" via the use of special books and items which act as portals. On each Age, the player solves puzzles and discovers story clues hidden in the Ages or written down in diaries and journals. The player's actions in the game decide the fate of the ancient D'ni civilization.

Inviting you to explore a vast deserted island, Myst slowly reveals a haunting storyline involving a series of books that unlock alternate planes of reality. With only your wits as your guide, you must decode the hidden clues placed throughout the game's gorgeous 3D environments. Through text, video clips and tricky puzzles, you'll discover a world so real, you will be certain that it truly exists.

Myst: Masterpiece Edition

Myst: Masterpiece Edition is a remastered version of 1993's Myst. This edition features improvements over the original release, such as re-rendered imagery in 24-bit color, a remastered score, and enhanced sound effects. In the game, players travel via a special book to the island of Myst. There, players solve puzzles, and by doing so, travel to four other worlds, known as Ages, which reveal the backstory of the game's characters.

Journey to Myst Island and begin to unravel the mystery you have been thrust into. As you learn what happened on the island, you will find yourself playing a key role in an epic story whose ending has not yet been written.

The island is full of secrets – learn your surroundings and discover what you can interact with. Each puzzle you solve will bring you closer to exploring more of the island, and reveal methods to reach other stunning and surreal worlds called “Ages”.

With an in-app purchase to unlock the other Ages of Myst, you will see even greater challenges await you, and discover deeper connections and puzzles that Myst has to offer. Uncover a story of ruthless family betrayal, and make choices that will affect both you, and the world of Myst itself.

Myst: The Age of Rime

The Age of Rime introduces players to the snowy, mountainous seascape that Atrus and his family would visit in years past, before the events of Myst and Riven upended their lives. Sweeping vistas, beautiful ice structures, and fantastical natural phenomena await new visitors.

This breathtaking new Age also houses a detailed laboratory space where bold experiments were made, delving into the mysterious nature of Linking Books themselves. This new version of Rime includes all-new narrative beats, new lore, and new sights to behold.

Myst 25th Anniversary Collection

To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the game Myst, Cyan offered an anthology of the complete series, along with some special, Atrus-approved, authentic game artefacts. The Collection was successfully funded through Kickstarter.

Myst Trilogy

Myst Trilogy is a compilation release that collects the first three titles in Cyan’s adventure game series: Myst: Masterpiece Edition, Riven: The Sequel to Myst, and Myst III: Exile.

A reimaged version developed by Cyan, this version builds the original from the ground up to enable play in VR and flatscreen PC, with new art, sound, interactions, and optional puzzle randomisation.

Riven

The 1997 Riven: The Sequel to Myst title remade from the ground-up. The remake of Riven features a fully traversable 3D space in both Standard First-Person or in VR.

In 1987, brothers Rand and Robyn Miller started a new company called Cyan, Inc., named for the open blue sky of possibility. The studio was built on the foundation of delivering incredible, immersive game experiences while maintaining a one-of-a-kind, collaborative atmosphere.

Their first project was creating a new kind of software for children that would allow them to explore and freely express their creativity. The first of these “digital storybooks” was The Manhole, followed by Cosmic Osmo and Spelunx.

In 1991 Cyan began work on Myst, a more mature endeavor intended to create an experience that felt more like a real place than a game. A surreal adventure through a fully-realized 3D environment, with a deeper story and characters the player could learn about through exploration.

Receiving unanimous praise from the public, sales for the Myst series have exceeded 15 million copies worldwide, and held the title of the best-selling video game of the 20th century until 2003.

Cyan has always been drawn to pushing the possibilities of interactive storytelling forward. Uru (Myst Online) allowed players to join the adventure of a lifetime in the caverns of D’ni, a neverending world which let players connect and explore together. It spawned a thriving community and is still available to explore for free.

Cyan is always embracing the latest technology, and has been an Unreal Engine-led studio since the 2016 release of Obduction. Cyan balances world-class artistry and worldbuilding with a small but passionate team to create games with incredible richness and depth. Today, Cyan continues to carry on the very same dream that began in 1987.
